Abstract:

On DART SpaceCraft, a NASA / Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory Mission, the APS based Autonomous Star Tracker (AA-STR) developed by Leonardo S.p.A was implemented for three axes attitude determination. After a 10 months journey, DART SpaceCraft impacted Dimorphos Asteroid keeping AA-STR in attitude control loop until the impact. This paper presents the AA-STR performance while Asteroid is approaching.
